TANANA RIVER CUSTOMS presents:
"Come and Take It!" is an American patriotic battle cry that was notably used in 1778 at Fort Morris in Georgia during the American Revolutionary War, and more famously in 1835 at the Battle of Gonzales sparking the Texas Revolution. The phrase is similar to the Greek phrase Molṑn Labé! (Take Them!), which is a classical expression of defiance that was reportedly spoken by King Leonidas I (540 BC - 480 BC) in response to the Persian army’s demand that the Spartans surrender their weapons at the Battle of Thermopylae in 480 BC.
